“Pose” and “American Horror Story” star Angelica Ross was an honoree at the Root 100 gala at the Angel Orensanz Foundation.

“I’m so honored to be here in a time where I can stand here right now in the midst of this and know that I’m not just up here because I’m trans … [It’s because] I’m a good-ass actress,” she declared.

Stacey Abrams and Washington Post journalist Karen Attiah were also among the honorees. Attiah moved the crowd by honoring her late colleague Jamal Khashoggi, who was assassinated last year.

Attendees also included Joy Reid, Bevy Smith and T.J. Holmes.
