Last week, 90 Day Fiance alum Nicole Nafziger returned to America at last.
Her two week vacation to see the love of her life in Morocco had turned into a five month extended stay thanks to COVID-19.
That was a long time to be away from her life ... and trolls hounded her day and night over it.
On top of the usual mom-shaming and insults was a wild theory.
Is her fiance Azan secretly married ... to his cousin ... and has children with her?
That, some fans think, would explain why they are not married.
Nicole is clearing the air once and for all by finally speaking up about this.
1. Nicole has had ENOUGH
People decide that they don't like a reality star and then they go on social media and spread lies abou them. It happens all of the time. Nicole is putting her foot down about some of the most hurtful and absurd things said about her and her fiance, Azan (Hassan M'Raouni).
2. The rumer is pretty outlandish
At some point, someone started an unsubstantiated rumor that Azan is actually already married in Morocco. Apparently, that wasn't enough for this particular creative writing exercise, because the rumor also claims that Azan's alleged "secret wife" is also his COUSIN and that they have kids together.
3. The wild rumor has caught on
Despite there never being any evidence of it whatsoever -- not just no definitive proof, but no pieces of evidence to be considered or disputed -- there is a solid chunk of the 90 Day Fiance fandom who genuinely believe this. We guess that they just decided against Nicole's relationship and were ready to accept any claim, no matter how far-fetched, that fit tneir preferred narrative.
4. Somehow, it's only the second silliest rumor
The most ridiculous rumor that we have ever seen about Nicole and Azan was a claim in July that Nicole wasn't in Morocco during her 5-month stay, and that she was just in Florida the whole time, faking the trip to Morocco for her fans. As if she endued months of hate and frothing-at-the-mouth mom-shaming over "abandoning" May (she addresses that) for funsies. Some people just have worms in their brains.
5. What does Nicole think about rumors of Azan having a "wife" who's not her?
Speaking to CelebMagazine, Nicole is finally directly addressing the rumor: "This is the most ridiculous rumor I’ve heard of Azan yet."
6. What is it even based on?
“Whoever’s ‘source’ this was really should have fact-checked this first," Nicole opines.
