‘Baywatch’ actress-turned-countess A.J. Langer is loving the British aristocracy

Meghan Markle found the rules of British aristocracy too much and fled after two years, but A.J. Langer, an Ohio native best known for her cameos in “Baywatch” and role as Rayanne Graff in “My So-Called Life,” has made a go of it.

Langer married Charles Courtenay, the eldest son of the Earl of Devon, in 2004. The couple lived in Los Angeles until the death of Courtenay’s father in 2014, when he became the Earl – and AJ a Countess.

After becoming the official 19th Earl (and Countess) of Devon, the couple and their two children moved into Powderham Castle, a huge multi-era structure that was first built in 1390 – that is falling apart in places.

“I was never anyone that imagined living in a big house with fancy things. I like camping and nature,” Langer told the Daily Mail. “You see this beautiful nature outside, but you’re in a fortress. Everything is falling apart.”

While the former actress admits “it can be a bit overwhelming,” she soldiered on and she and her husband settled into their new roles and house – although the Earl can be stubborn on some things.

“My husband won’t let us fix the doors because it has always been broken and he finds it sweet,” Langer said.
