‘I Want To Play A Game’: Here Are 10 Most F*cked Up ‘Saw’ Traps

January 31, 2018

Hello… I want to play a game?

It may be hard to get your head around, but Saw is nearly 14 years old…

The gory blockbuster was a game-changer for Horror films, as it was really the first time such a graphic, blood-fuelled murder-fest had gained such commercial success.

In fact, Jigaw’s very first film has reportedly earned a $103 million from just a $1.2 million budget, and had since gone on to have 6 sequels.

Saw’s legacy was not cemented just through being gory. It’s Jigsaw’s psychological games and shocking twists which really keep audiences wanting to cut their legs off just to see more.

So, in order to celebrate this sick saga of horror film, we’re taking a look at the Top 10 Saw Traps, based on the mental and physical torture:

The Hair Trap – Saw IV:

After entering a room, Officer Rigg is faced with the beautiful Amanda locked in a trap, with her hair twisted around gears and cogs.

‘Your obsession tells you to save the victim. I tell you to walk away. The choice is yours…”

Prior to Rigg finding Amanda, she is told that if the police officer is able to save her, he will realise she is guilty of multiple crimes and she will spend the rest of her life in prison.

As the timer begins to count down, Amanda’s scalp is torn from her skull, as blood starts to spurt from her forehead. Luckily, Rigg is able to free her, but she then attacks him with a knife in an attempt to kill him. He has no choice but to wrestle her to the ground, tugging on her half-attached hair to do so.

Flammable Jelly – Saw:

Mark Rodriguez Wilson is locked inside a room with poison coursing through his veins.  In order to survive, he must administer the antidote which is locked inside a safe.  The near impossible combination is written on the walls, and his only light source is a small candle.

To really put the pressure on, the floor is covered in broken glass and his has been stripped naked and smeared in a flammable substance.

So I would be careful with that candle…

It’s not only the endless threats that made this trap almost impossible, but the idea of being burned alive is perhaps one of the worse ways to go. Needless to say, Mark ends up barbecued.

Pints of Sacrifice – Saw V:

‘The human body, for instance, is an astoundingly durable creation. It contains approximately ten pints of blood. Yet it is still able to operate with just half of that…’

After realising far too late that all six of the starting prisoners could have endured a lot of pain but survived Jigsaw’s games, the Brit and Malick are locked in a room with only 15 minutes to escape before bomb explosions kill them.

Then then must sacrifice 10 pints of blood in order to unlock the door; the only issue is, either one endures all the pain and they die, or they both try it and possibly survive.

This is honestly the only Saw trap I ever felt truly disgusted by, because I can’t even handle a paper cut on my hand, let alone a circular saw. But really, it’s the mental aspect of having to inflict the pain of themselves which is the mindf*ck. They both survived.

The Needle Pit – Saw II:

Intended for drug dealer Xavier, a group of Jigsaw’s contestants are locked in a room with only 4 minutes to survive. The only problem is, the key is located in a tub filled with 120,000 used and filthy syringes.

“It will be like finding a needle in a haystack. Let the game begin…”

Opting not to go for it, Xavier picks up Amanda and throws her into the pit – which is what really adds to the terror of this trap. Every move she makes results in a stab from a needle, but eventually, Amanda ploughs through and gets the key.

Unfortunately, Xavier’s butterfingers meant they were unable to unlock the door in time.
