Macaulay Culkin Reveals His Thoughts On That Donald Trump Cameo In Home Alone 2
We will always remember Macaulay Culkin as the kid who shot to fame in 1990 as the star of the hugely iconic blockbuster Home Alone. Culkin played Kevin McCallister, a little boy who had mistakenly been left at home by his family as they jetted off to Paris on their Christmas vacation.
The once-adored star reprised his role in the sequel and ultimately both movies became two of the most popular Christmas films of all time and made over 800 million dollars worldwide.
Culkin also went on to achieve huge success in movies such as Uncle Buck, My Girl and Richie Rich. And while we haven’t seen much of him on the big screen over the last couple of decades, every now and then he engages in, well, some sort of unconventional activity.
Yep, he’s done and said some pretty bizarre things in recent years…
Remember his band The Pizza Underground? It was a “comedy rock band” he formed with his friends back in 2013. You may recall that the band existed for the sole purpose of parodying songs by the Velvet Underground and rewriting the lyrics to give them a pizza-related twist.
You may also have heard that the band broke up earlier this month, according to an interview Culkin did on the WTF With Marc Maron podcast.
Yes, it’s mildly entertaining to read of his latest bizarre shenanigans, but we all long for the days when Macaulay Culkin impressed moviegoers with his acting chops in the Home Alone movies.
And in fact, back in December 2015, he reprised his famous role in a very NSFW web series, DRYVRS. But instead of playing the lovable little boy that we knew and loved, he played a very traumatized version of himself.
It was pretty creepy to say the least…
Yep, those of us who remain dedicated fans of the Home Alone movies will just have to accept that he is no longer interested (or no longer capable) of being a serious actor. “I’m a man in his mid-30s who’s essentially retired,” he admitted to Vulture. “I kind of go where the wind takes me a little bit.”
