Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Are Moving. But Their New Neighbors Would Prefer That …

October 04, 2022

When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry first moved to Southern California, Tyler Perry put them up in a mansion of his in Beverly Hills.

From there, the couple relocated to the Montecito, a tony neighborhood in SoCal’s vaunted Santa Barbara County.

Now, it seems that Harry and Meghan are on the verge of pulling up stakes once again.

And the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might not be receiving a very warm welcome from their potential new neighbors.

Seemingly in search of greater privacy, Harry and Meghan are moving to the Hope Ranch neighborhood of Santa Barbara.

But according to a new report from TMZ, members of the neighborhood’s homeowners association are not thrilled with the idea of Meg and Harry moving to the area.

Insiders tell the outlet that the residents have nothing against Harry and Meghan personally.

Rather, they’re concerned about the presence of paparazzi and security personnel, who might cause congestion on the area’s narrow, overcrowded streets.

It’s a reasonable fear, as the Sussexes are hounded by the media no matter where they go in the world.

But it’s worth noting that residents of Montecito found Harry, Meghan, and their two children to be an unobtrusive presence.

In fact, the couple’s immediate neighbors say they never created any sort of disturbance.

Now, Meghan and Harry sued a photographer who snapped a pic of baby Archie by using a telephoto lens to peer through their windows.

But it seems that they were the only ones who were harassed by the tabloid media during their nearly two-year stint in Montecito.

So the fine folks of Hope Ranch probably have nothing to worry about.

But considering the median price for a home in the area is $4.7 million, we can see why Harry and Meghan’s soon-to-be neighbors might be ultra-protective of their investments.

And the fact that the Duke and Duchess have been under even greater scrutiny in the weeks since Queen Elizabeth II died probably isn’t doing much to assuage their fears.

Of course, HOAs have limited power, and if Harry and Meghan really want to really want to move to Hope Ranch, and they’ve made a deal to purchase a home, there’s not much that can be done to stop them.

The HOA can make life rather unpleasant for the couple once they move, but Harry and Meghan are probably content to cross that bridge when they come to it.

Besides, after facing down the wrath of the entire British tabloid media, a sternly-worded email about your hedges being too tall is probably pretty tame by comparison.
