Back in 2019, Jill Duggar cut ties with her parents.

This was before Josh Duggar was arrested on child pornography charges, and the Duggar clan as we knew it pretty much fell apart.

These days, the family is divided into two feuding factions: those who have remained loyal to Josh/Jim Bob and those who have been able to see through the lies.

And Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, are firmly in the latter camp.

While Jill reportedly has zero contact with her parents, there are some family members with whom she’s still on semi-decent terms.

Over the weekend, there was a baby shower for Abbie Burnett, who is expecting her second child with Jill’s brother John David.

At first, it was rumored that Jill had been left off of the guest list.

A photo of the Duggar sisters and sisters-in-law in matching attire made the rounds on social media, and Jill was nowhere to be seen.

But Jill was indeed on hand for the celebration.

She just didn’t wear the matching attire or participate in the group photo.

“Congrats @johnandabbie Loved getting to celebrate baby today!” Jill captioned the photo above.

Now, there are many reasons that Jill might have been left out of the group shot.

The Dillards just welcomed their third child last month, and Jill might have been too worn out to seek out a powder blue Little House on the Prairie dress.

Of course, it’s equally likely that Jill’s sisters did not want to be seen posing with her for fear that such a photo might be taken as a sign of disrespect by their father.

After all, not only did Jill and Derick cut ties with Jill’s parents, they’ve been quite vocal about their reasons for doing so.

Derick has accused Jim Bob of stealing millions from his own children and creating the culture of abuse that enabled Josh to get away with so much for so long.

The Dillards say they have zero contact with Jill’s parents, but they insist that the decision to sever ties completely was one that Jim Bob made.

“I think he’s mainly worried about the influence we might have on his children,” Derick said in a recent interview with UK tabloid The Sun.

As for Jill and Derick’s life post-Jim Bob, it seems that the couple is doing quite well after cutting ties with the infamous Duggar patriarch.

Jill enjoys updating her followers on the development of little Frederick, and they seem to love receiving the updates even more.

“Yesterday, Frederick celebrated one month being on this side of the womb and he weighed in at 9lbs. 1oz…” she captioned one recent photo.

Jill and Derick might have lost the support of certain members of the Duggar family when they decided to go their own way.’

But it seems that the Dillards are doing just fine without it!
