Matt Reeves Gives Us the First Teaser For 'The Batman' Coming Into His Own As The World's Greatest Detective

August 22, 2020

Although it leaked hours ago, the official drop of footage and a trailer for The Batman is now here. After a lengthy Q&A with writer and director Matt Reeves, we knew that his focus was Bruce Wayne's second year of crime-fighting. We were warned that all of the iconic characters, from Catwoman to The Penguin, are new, early versions of who they will later become. Reeves even provided insight on the Batsuit and Robert Pattinson's input on its wearability and look, as well as Christian Bale's advice to the actor to make sure he could pee in between scenes.

Then DC FanDome provided the official trailer, showcasing Colin Farrell's unrecognizable turn as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, brief looks at Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, and the unmistakable MO of The Riddler (Paul Dano) all over the place. Get ready to see "goth Bruce Wayne" every time you hit social media thanks to the film's lighting and some ridiculously hot shots of Pattinson with smokey look eyes from wearing the cowl.

And the song choice? I love it.

Check out these character screencaps as well.
