Dua Lipa interviewed old folks about herself — but they didn’t know her

They’re having a senior moment.

Singer-songwriter Dua Lipa stepped in to host “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Monday night and pulled the ultimate prank on the elderly when she interviewed them about herself without them knowing.

The 24-year-old English pop star began the segment with a funny monologue before launching into the suitably named “Who-A-Lipa?” segment where she video called a few old folks.

“A lot of my fans are young but I’m always trying to reach a wider audience, so I decided to reach out to some seniors,” Lipa said during the segment. “These are real people who I interviewed over the internet. I told them I was conducting a survey about music, but didn’t tell them who I was.”

Lipa kicks off the series of interviews by asking, “Do you know who Dua Lipa is?”

One man in black-framed glasses cocks his head in confusion and says, “Who?” While another elderly man wearing suspenders answers, “Is that a person?”

A couple responded by trying to repeat her name and mistakenly saying “Dua Mita?” And another man answers,”The Doobie Brothers?” Referencing the 1970s rock band.

The singer then starts to play her hit tune “Break My Heart” and asks how they feel about the song.

“Love it, love it, love it!” One woman exclaims. “That’s a good one, I’m writing it down.”

When asked if she, Dua Lipa, might do well with her music, one senior answers: “I don’t know she might do well on TikTok.”

When she finally breaks the news about who she really is, one woman, who had already criticized her outfit for being “terrible” and improper in a photo, answers, “Oh swell, I really got myself in it this time didn’t I!”

Another replies, “Oh, are you really? I’m going to run out and buy a CD!”

The last man in the clip simply laughs hysterically.

Later in the episode, Lipa interviews Gwen Stefani who calls the singer “brave” for completing the antics. The No Doubt singer is featured on one of Lipa’s upcoming tracks, “Physical,” which drops Aug. 28.
