After the backlash of Diablo Immortal (and the recent layoffs in spite of record profits), Blizzard is having to do a bit of making up for fans.
There have been rumblings of Diablo 4 for quite a long time, and apparently, according to Activision Blizzard COO Coddy Johnson during Activision Blizzard’s quarterly earnings call, the development headcount for the franchise “will grow substantially” as the teams work on several projects underway for the franchise, including Diablo Immortal.
Of course, this also goes back to the rumours that Diablo 2 could see a remaster, as well. Blizzard remains tight-lipped about any of the projects currently in development, but according to Johnson, “overall, Blizzard’s management is reinforcing its pipeline with more resources than ever before to support planned mobile titles, several PC and console releases, and WoW‘s continued cadence of content.”
Diablo Immortal is planned for release on Android and iOS. No release date has been announced as of yet.
