Tracy Morgan surprises community center opening in old Brooklyn ‘hood

November 12, 2020

Tracy Morgan, who grew up in Tompkins Houses in Brooklyn, showed some love to his old neighborhood last week.

The comic surprised attendees at a ribbon-cutting for a new community center at the nearby Marcy Houses. “When Tracy showed up, the crowd went nuts,” a source said.

We’re told City Councilman Robert Cornegy is pals with Morgan and invited him to the ceremony, where the actor presented him with a giant chain from “The Last O.G.,” his TBS show that filmed in the area.

“It felt like I won the old-school Brooklyn version of the Oscars,” Cornegy, who is running for borough president, told us.
