With Miami’s Art Week scaled-down — and Art Basel canceled — this year, art collector and real estate mogul Alan Faena has commissioned an ambitious installation that will be free to the public.
“Dreaming With Lions” by Cuban artist Alexandre Arrechea will be on display through Dec. 6 in front of the Faena Hotel Miami Beach. The upcoming piece is inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s “The Old Man and the Sea.”
It’ll be 62 feet in diameter, we hear, composing a rotunda that will look like an “enormous, forum-style library,” with beach towels illustrated with Hemingway quotes.
