Ben Higgins is off the market.
On Friday, the former “Bachelor” star, 31, got engaged to longtime girlfriend Jessica Clarke.
“I don’t remember everything you said, but I know that I said yes. I woke up in a dream today and I get to live in this dream every day from now on (eeeep),” Clarke shared Saturday on Instagram, along with shots of the scenic proposal.
Higgins, who has been linked to Clarke since early 2019, initially planned to propose in New York, where he and Becca Kufrin were set to co-host “The Bachelor: Live on Stage” earlier this month, according to Entertainment Tonight. Amid the coronavirus outbreak, he changed course and popped the question in Franklin, Tennessee, close to Clarke’s family.
“I went back to a pond behind her house, and we had set it up with sunflowers near a bench. It’s right in their backyard, but a little hidden. I proposed and her family and mine were watching from a distance, and then we all celebrated together,” Higgins told the publication.
Though Higgins had designed Clarke’s engagement ring for three months with Denver’s Gnat Jewelers, he got the sparkler “two days before [they] came to [Tennessee].”
“I’m pretty happy with it. It took a lot of work and big team effort,” Higgins said.
Higgins first appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of “The Bachelorette” in 2015. He became “The Bachelor” a year later, and got engaged to finalist Lauren Bushnell. The couple called it quits in 2017.
