Custody battle between Meghan King Edmonds and Jim Edmonds rages on despite coronavirus
Not even coronavirus can stop a custody battle.
Meghan King Edmonds and Jim Edmonds‘ battle over their three small children has reached a contentious point, an insider told Page Six on Sunday.
“Meghan took the kids to Los Angeles in mid-March in violation of her custody agreement and without discussing it with or even telling Jim,” the insider said. “Jim is livid that she would travel with small kids during this health crisis and put them at risk, and also he is unable to see them or take care of them because of travel restrictions. Meghan’s actions were reckless and irresponsible.”
The insider claims that Jim returned their children, daughter Aspen, 3, and sons Hayes and Hart, 2, to Meghan on Friday, March 13 when Aspen was running a fever. Meghan and the children flew to California the next day.
We’re told that Jim only found out that they were in a different state during a FaceTime call after they’d been in California for two days.
However, a rep for Meghan told us that a judge approved for her to take their three children to California per their temporary custody agreement, so Jim was aware that she and the kids would be traveling back and forth between Missouri and California.
“There was no violation whatsoever,” the rep added, noting that the parents agreed it would be best for their kids to stay in one household with Meghan during the coronavirus pandemic per their pediatrician’s recommendation.
Meghan referenced their agreement in a now-deleted Instagram story.
It’s been predicted that the coronavirus crisis in Los Angeles could reach the same devastation that New York is facing within the next five days. New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Sunday that nearly 60,000 cases and 1,000 deaths have now been documented across the state.
“If Jim had known Meghan was planning to take their children to California, he never would have let that happen,” the insider said. “She took a child with a fever to an epicenter of this crisis.”
Jim, 49, is now struggling with his health as well as he was tested for the coronavirus on Saturday.
The former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star, 35, and Jim pulled the plug on their marriage in October following a sexting scandal and a rumored affair with their children’s nanny. The former MLB star denied having an inappropriate relationship with the nanny, Carly Wilson.
He is currently residing at his newly-built mansion in St. Louis while Meghan rents the California home. She told fans on a recent Instagram Live that she does still maintain a residence in Missouri.
