[Rumor] Universal Orlando’s New Theme Park May Include the Universal Monsters?!

February 26, 2019

Orlando Park Stop, who is on the forefront of the many theme parks in Orlando, Florida, has shared evidence of a possible Universal Monsters theme park that’s in development in the Orange County area of Florida.

Over the last few years, Universal Orlando has been reacquiring around 1000 acres of land for their newest park, “Fantastic Worlds”, which will integrate various intellectual properties from the early conceptualized “Super Nintendo World” to quite possibly Universal Monsters.

The aforementioned link shows early concept art of what appears to be Dracula’s castle and the name “Worlds of Universal Classic Monsters.” The caption reads (partially): “Concept Art for one of the many attractions in the Universal Classic Monsters-”

This is all but confirmed [it’s a rumor!] as the park’s contents are allegedly far from solidified, although the Universal Monsters have always been a staple of the Universal parks even if they haven’t been able to find ample footing. In previous years, they’ve closed the King Kong and Jaws attractions, although The Mummy continues to operate in both U.S. parks and the new King Kong ride is spectacular. While not actual Universal Monsters, they are Universal properties that could be included in a “world” within a theme park, not to mention an extension of Jurassic Park. With all of that said, Universal Pictures is pushing forward with their Universal Monsters reboots and have enlisted Blumhouse to help ensure success after their Mummy remake unraveled. It sounds as if they have very big plans for the franchise beyond film, which would explain why the films haven’t been left in the dust.

Carrying a strict rumor warning, could you imagine an entire world with rides and attractions based on Frankenstein and his Bride, Wolf Man, the Invisible Man, Creature from the Black Lagoon, and even Dracula?! It would be nothing short of a miracle to see this come to fruition and we’ll be watching this development closely.
