Next “Stranger Things” Comic from Dark Horse Will Focus on a New Young Girl With Special Powers
The most controversial episode of “Stranger Things” to date was Season 2’s “The Lost Sister,” a bold deviation from the norm that stepped outside of Hawkins and introduced a whole new group of characters who, like Eleven, have special powers of their own. Many felt the episode was useless. Personally, I found it refreshing and *very* important to Eleven’s story.
I bring up that episode because Dark Horse just announced a brand new “Stranger Things” mini-series (revealed by EW) that looks to be cut from a very similar cloth.
Dark Horse’s next “Stranger Things” comic, the site announced today, will be “a prequel focused on another of Eleven’s predecessors: Six.”
“Written by Jody Houser and drawn by Edgar Salazar, Stranger Things: Six will follow Francine. While Eleven is gifted with telekinesis and Kali can create illusions, Francine has the power of precognition. She’s struggled through a lifetime of exploitation, first at the hands of her parents and later by Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) and Hawkins Laboratory. Brenner wants to harness her powers, but Francine’s increasingly disturbing visions show her an opportunity to change her life.”
The four-issue miniseries will debut on comic book shelves on May 29.
