All Things ‘Ghostbusters’ Leaving Netflix in March, Including “The Real Ghostbusters”

February 20, 2019

Looking back through our archives, Netflix added animated series “The Real Ghostbusters” to their streaming library just about two years ago, and we’re now bummed to discover courtesy of Netflix’s newsletter for March 2019 that the beloved series is soon leaving the service.

All 116 episodes currently available to stream will be gone on March 31, 2019.

The series ran from September 1986 to October 1991. Seven seasons aired in total, with the show being renamed “Slimer! And the Real Ghostbusters” starting with the fourth season. In total, there were 140 episodes in the series, so Netflix hadn’t been streaming *all* of them.

“The Real Ghostbusters” follows the continuing adventures of the four Ghostbusters, their secretary Janine, their accountant Louis, and their friendly mascot Slimer, as they chase and capture rogue spirits around New York City and various other areas of the world.

On March 1st, Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 are also leaving Netflix.
