Robert Evans’ neighbor buys ‘Chinatown’ script for $32K to keep it in Beverly Hills
November 09, 2020
After Page Six reported that an auction of the late legendary producer Robert Evans’ belongings brought in nearly a half-million dollars, we’re told that two of the items were bought by his neighbor.
We hear Suzan Hughes — who lives in the property next to Evans’ Beverly Hills estate, known as Woodland — snapped up a leather-bound script of the Evans-produced “Chinatown” for $32,500 and an elaborate wooden sconce for $5,000. She told us, “I wanted to keep these items in the neighborhood, as Woodland meant so much to him.”
He died in October 2019 at age 89.
