Two houses, two courts, one crown — and a whole lot of style.
Season 4 of the cult-favorite period piece “The Crown” is set to return Nov. 15, and royals and commoners alike are gearing up for fresh historical drama. And after the release of the newest trailer, it’s clear there’s another great reason to watch the upcoming episodes: Princess Diana’s famous fashion.
For her debut on the show, Lady Di will be played by British actress Emma Corrin, poised to re-create some of the fiery moments that marked the future princess’ entry into the United Kingdom’s royal family, including her rocky-from-the-start relationship with Prince Charles and desperate desire for acceptance from Queen Elizabeth II.
But when early trailers dropped for the show, all eyes were on the wardrobe. Many of the outfits spotted were almost exact replicas of real-life looks worn by Princess Di, including her headline-stealing David Emanuel wedding dress.
Here are some shoppable versions of Diana Spencer’s most iconic outfits — perfect for your “Crown”-inspired cosplay.
For roller-skating down the palace hallways
The princess was beloved for her spontaneity and free spirit, which she maintained even in the face of stuffy royalty. To do like Di, embrace the wind in your hair while roller-skating your way through the palace — or, for us commoners, a narrow apartment hallway.
This cozy staple is great for keeping warm in a drafty palace. The sweater is 100% cashmere and features a classic V-neck. Opt to match the princess in shocking pink, or choose from an array of six additional colors from black to cream.
Buy NowEvery professional man, woman and princess needs a perfectly tailored white button-up shirt. Like Princess Di, layer this under a sweater or blouse, or go rogue and wear it open over a favorite basic tee. This style from Saks Fifth Avenue is an upscale option for those wanting to invest in good-quality basics.
Buy NowThese pink gingham leggings are perfectly suited for any and all royal antics. The compression leggings are also part of the 100% Bloomingdale’s Exclusive collection.
Buy NowThe pièce de résistance: a pair of crisp white skates to transform a palace into a roller rink. Roller skates made a huge comeback this quarantine season, and as always, Diana was ahead of her time. Now back on shelves after a restock, this white leather pair from Chicago Skates on Amazon have a vintage look and feel, without compromising on safety. They have an adjustable truck and high-top fit to hold you in nice and snug.
Buy NowFor looking put together for the paparazzi
The butter-yellow two-piece matching set is a showstopper; easy to put together in the morning and effortlessly chic. In the trailer, Diana looks nonchalant while being photographed by paparazzi on the street. And honestly, who wouldn’t invite some attention from the shutterbugs, being dressed that well?
This sunshine-yellow skirt suit can be worn together, or as separates, and the color channels the late princess’ bright disposition. Found at Saks Fifth Avenue, this crewneck jacket has three-quarter sleeves and is fully lined.
Buy NowIn the trailer for “The Crown,” Diana is seen with a white crossbody slung over her shoulder as she surveys the streets of England. The remarkably similar Mini Nu Twin leather bag from The Row is available at Nordstrom. The label, founded by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, is itself inspired by London fashion: It’s named for the city’s go-to street for high-end tailoring, Savile Row.

This re-creation of Princess Diana’s 1983 pink polka-dot look is spot on. The real royal was photographed wearing the pink ensemble during the opening of the Princess of Wales wing of Fremantle Hospital in Australia.
Corrin’s version is almost eerily perfect, from the pink fascinator to her white envelope clutch. The costume department for “The Crown” is known for its attention to detail, but with the right pieces, a layperson can emulate the pretty-in-pink princess, too.
A true English fascinator can be tough to pull off, but a beret is a modern update: a little “Emily in Paris” by way of “The Crown.” The Kate Spade crocheted beret comes in a deep pomegranate color, reminiscent of Diana’s look.
Buy NowExtend summer just a bit longer with this flowy pink faux-wrap dress from Fraiche by J, a collection at Nordstrom. This dress mimics the ’80s-era cinched style of the original. It has sheer sleeves and an elastic waist with ties to fit comfortably whether you’re at the store or waving to fans.

Just a bit smaller then the envelope clutch carried by the princess, the slim leather trifold envelope wallet from Michael by Michael Kors is a fashion statement in its own right. The wallet comes in a clean white color with fun gold accents — the trim and “MK” logo. The back has a zipper pocket for additional storage, and the interior has room for 14 credit cards — plenty for a royal shopping habit.
Buy NowFor a polo match or a garden party
Diana famously once wore a pair of fitted yellow overalls over a floral blouse to a polo match in July 1981. She was also a big fan of cardigans and printed sweaters — jumpers if you’re British — as a chic way to cover up in cloudy weather.
These flattering Natural Sights overalls bring fashion to a usually utility-focused uniform. While not the butter-yellow color seen in the show, these overalls come in cool camel (pictured above), and an array of other neutrals from beige to dark copper. The straps are adjustable, and the pant hits at ankle length for a modern touch.
Buy NowThis sweater from Zara features similarly dainty flowers compared to the look worn by Corrin, but in a more updated and understated style. A creamy white base complements any bottoms, from jeans to skirts.
Buy NowThe Chloé brand button-down blouse weaves blue and pink accents into ribbons of leopard print and interlocking brown branches. Made from a lightweight fabric, it is perfect for layering in the colder months and standing out on its own in the warmer ones.

Princess Diana stunned in a one-shoulder, floral floor-length gown when she visited Brazil in 1991. Designed by British couturier Catherine Walker, it featured a ruched bodice and a sumptuous, sweeping skirt.
While the world’s fancy dress balls are currently on hold, it’s never a bad thing to have a black-tie look on hand, right?
From the iconic Harrods department store comes this equally iconic gown. Marchesa Notte’s floral confection has the same one-shoulder style that both the princess and her likeness in “The Crown” sport.
Buy NowFor that red-carpet look
The name’s Bond, Princess Bond. Diana wore this flattering polka-dot number for the 1981 premiere of “For Your Eyes Only,” a 007 film starring Roger Moore.
This flirty dress from Saks Fifth Avenue is from the Australian sister-duo Nicky and Simone Zimmermann. It hits at a mid-calf length and features the same spaghetti-style straps as the dress from the show.
Buy NowThe Emmie Glitter clutch is made from Italian leather and features an envelope closure embossed with the designer’s name. Hold it close as a clutch bag, or wear it as a crossbody with the included gold-colored chain. It has just enough room for your going-out essentials and has six card slots in addition to interior pockets.

Although this look isn’t featured in the trailer, we hope that once the season starts, the princess will be sporting more of her classic sporty looks. This one was taken when Princess Diana — without a care in the world with her comfy sweatshirt and pink bike shorts — was visiting Chelsea Harbour Club in 1997. Wouldn’t she be thrilled to know those are back in style?
Etsy seller StayAndDesign is offering an almost perfect replica at a great price far lower than the original. The white crewneck features the same USA lettering and flag, and comes pre-shrunk, so you can mimic the baggy style of the royal’s look.
Buy NowLegging shorts are officially back, and Princess Di was right on the money for this trend. Rock the style yourself with these high-rise bike shorts from Lululemon.
They come in a comparable cherry color, and feature super lightweight and cooling Nulux fabric, to keep you cool and comfortable when paired with the cozy hoodie, or if you decide to take a bike ride around the palace grounds.
Buy NowCan’t see the haters, or the paparazzi, when you’re wearing these amazing shades.
Behind these Burberry cat-eye sunnies, you can give some royal side-eye. These tortoiseshell frames have extra-wide arms to really show off the pattern. The specs come with a hard leather case and cleaning cloth to keep them looking brand new, as they slip into your daily-wear wardrobe.
