The most famous “Veep” on television is thrilled that a woman will finally hold the office.

“‘Madam Vice President’ is no longer a fictional character @KamalaHarris,” Julia Louis-Dreyfus tweeted to her real-life successor, the nation’s first woman to become a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Louis-Dreyfus starred as the feisty, foul-mouthed — and hilarious — Vice-President Selena Meyer in HBO’s comedy, Veep, which satirized Washington, D.C., politics.

Louis-Dreyfus appeared at the Democratic National Convention this year in support of Biden and Harris. She also organized an online Veep reunion to benefit their campaign.

She made a bit of history herself by winning her sixth Emmy for the show — the most consecutive awards by an actor for the same role.

“Veep” made news this week because a 2016 episode predicted the debacle surrounding this presidential election, down to the state of Nevada.
