Jeffree Star Offers Up Money To People In Need On Twitter And Some Fans Follow Suit

April 01, 2020

Jeffree Star is a one-time MySpace star that transitioned successfully into the world of YouTube, building a popular beauty channel there before founding his own makeup company. Star owns Jeffree Star Cosmetics and also runs Killer Merch, which sells and ships merchandise sold by YouTubers like Shane Dawson and James Charles.

As shared in his updated house tour video on March 28, Star's business was deemed non-essential during the current pandemic and his large staff of employees at both companies faced uncertainty. He shared that all of those employees are receiving paid leave that includes their health benefits, which is a huge deal, obviously.

Today, not content to take care only of those he knows, Star took to Twitter:

After this, Star received an influx of followers asking for help accompanied by screenshots of their negative bank accounts and empty refrigerators. Star responded to several of them as well.

It seemed that Star's followers began to help each other as well, as seen in this Tweet:

It was a refreshingly positive light in my Twitter feed to see people helping each other and encouraging those struggling while being a firsthand look at the reality of a country full of people living paycheck to paycheck. Here's hoping we can get things right after this is all over.
