Katy Perry isn’t letting coronavirus stop her from having fun.
The “Teenage Dream” singer, 35, stayed on theme while taping the first at-home episode of “American Idol” on Sunday by dressing up as a huge bottle of hand sanitizer.
Perry explained her over-the-top costume by joking that she wanted to be “as safe as possible,” and told host Ryan Seacrest that she “will never forget” being pregnant during a global pandemic.
The Purell-inspired “music sanitizer” getup was designed by longtime Perry creative director Johnny Wujek and created by costume designer Shokra and fashion designer Pini.
Perry is no stranger to hilarious — and hard-to-maneuver — costumes; she stole the show at the 2020 Met Gala in her Jeremy Scott-designed chandelier outfit on the red carpet, and later changed into a cheeseburger look for the afterparties.
