Friends, I'm here today to tell you that definitively it is April 25th, 2020. This is important not because all the days blur together and I felt like reminding you but because April 25th is the perfect date.
I mean, sure it may not feel like it right now, but I guarantee you it is. Want to know why? Well, it's not too hot, and it's...well, you know what? I'll let my friend Cheryl from Rhode Island explain it to you:
OK, so in case you are very young or a time traveler, I am talking about arguably the most famous bit from Miss Congeniality, the 2000-classic Sandra Bullock comedy that is very good and funny. Just watch:
Are we at the point in our society where we let movies dictate real life? You betcha! Wouldn't you rather live in the world of Miss Congeniality than the hellscape we're currently experiencing? Of course you would! It's a world where FBI agents can become beauty queens, and Benjamin Bratt is there looking handsome, also.
Plus, it is a very funny movie and I feel like it doesn't get enough respect--
Twenty years on (gulp--we're all getting old, y'all), I am at least still talking about it, so maybe there's something to this April 25th business after all. Although it doesn't feel like it today, because it's very hot where I am and I had to turn on the AC last night. Then again, like I said earlier, 2020 is kind of a hellscape, so the real point I'm trying to make is that we should all stay home (duh) close the curtains on the outside world, and re-watch Miss Congeniality.
