Prince Harry’s Invictus Games plans in ‘chaos’ over coronavirus fears

March 02, 2020

Prince Harry’s Invictus Games have been thrown into “chaos” as coronavirus continues its spread across Europe, a report said Monday.

The week-long event for wounded veterans — created by Harry in 2014 — is scheduled for The Hague from May 9.

However the Netherlands now has at least 13 confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to officials, and the spread across Europe has already led to bans on many large gatherings.

“There is a huge amount of concern and a lot of attention is being paid to how Holland deals with the virus and whether it spreads,” a source told The Sun.

“There is concern many will be forced to stay at home — particularly if the situation does develop into a pandemic.

“Organizers are also worried about the dangers in the current climate of putting so many disabled athletes together in one place from different countries for a week,” the source continued. “It is a logistical nightmare and a real worry for the people planning it.”

Harry has already started promoting this year’s event, joining rocker Jon Bon Jovi to record a charity single.

“Harry takes the Games incredibly seriously and will be desperate to make sure they are a big success,” the source told the UK paper.

A spokesman for the games told The Sun that organizers were “planning responses to various scenarios.”
