Money Heist, also known as La Casa de Papel, is a Spanish crime-drama on Netflix. It tells the story of a mysterious stranger known as The Professor, who recruits a band of misfits to pull off one of the biggest heists in history. These top criminals, who derive their names from different capitals from all over the world, are an amalgamation of the most talented criminals out there. And despite the wild twists and turns this adventure takes, it’s so worth watching and investing in.

Still not convinced? Don’t worry, I’ve come ready with facts, from the actual heist to found family and the badass women of Money Heist. And don’t worry about getting spoiled. We’re going to keep it relatively spoiler-free and focus on the beginning of this journey to hopefully entice you to watch more.

The Actual Heist

The Professor, played by Álvaro Morte, is a mastermind like none I’ve ever seen before. He’s meticulous, calm, vicious, and caring wrapped up in one. Trust me when I say it’s a journey with that man and that you should trust him with your life and then some. Because when he makes a promise, when he sets something up, he means it completely and will fight tooth and nail for you.

His personality and conviction make it easier for the cast of criminals to trust in the heist as he lays it all out. And oh lord, it is a thing of beauty, thought over and analyzed till the cows come home. Because The Professor wants to win this thing. And he knows that these people can pull off his meticulous planning, no matter what obstacles they may face. And they face them, a lot.

Money Heist faces challenges from those that want to stop them, which is pretty predictable by TV standards. But it also faces challenges between the criminals themselves and then the actual group of people that are being held hostage in the Royal Mint of Spain where the heist is going down.

By the time that season one gets to its final episodes, you’re left in a position where you’re actively cheering on the criminals and then some. You want them to make it away. You want them to stick it to the man. And you want them to survive with no casualties because you’ve come to care for them in the middle of history’s biggest heist.

The Found Family

Right off the bat, I knew these people would become family. Not all of them, of course. There’s always one or two who end up being a pain. But for the most part, I was right when it came to my instinct that these people, these criminals, would end up seeing each other as the found family that they never had aka my favorite trope of all time.

Remember how in the Fast & Furious movies they talk about family and how they’re basically each other’s ride or die? The same thing goes for the gang from Money Heist. They might not say it all the time and act aloof because sharing feelings is hard when you’ve been burned like these criminals. But they care deeply for each other. And when push comes to shove, they will take out all that are in their way in the name of found family.

Along the way, and for only a couple of them, their bonds transition from found family into something more. Basically, we get some romance out of this bad boy and I’m more than ok with the connections that form and the directions they take as the heist progresses. It’s not perfect, they do mess up, but it’s all about family in the end.

What more could you want? Well, besides the next part of this post on why you should be watching Money Heist on Netflix …

The Badass Women

Just because this is listed last doesn’t mean that it’s not supremely important. In fact, it might be the reason why I love Money Heist the most. This show has multiple badass women who are here for their own reasons and not just because it serves the male characters of the show. They are crooks, they are officers, they are businesswomen.

Tokyo, played by Úrsula Corberó, is the messiest of all the characters, and I love her for that. She’s technically the main protagonist of the show but her presence doesn’t overwhelm the rest of the show. She’s part of a collective even though she narrates the story. And even though I might not like the relationships she forms sometimes, she’s loyal, fierce, and takes no one’s crap.

Then there’s my Nairobi, played by Alba Flores. She is the smartest of all of them. I said, what I said. She sees the bigger picture coming a mile away and knows how to get stuff done, especially when it comes to counterfeit money. But one of my favorite things about her is how she always keeps an eye out, analyzing every bit around her as if she were ready to jump into action.

While Tokyo and Nairobi are the “thieves” of the story, there are two other women who enter this story in unexpected ways. First up, Mónica Gaztambide, who is played by Esther Acebo. She’s taken hostage during season one by the robbers of the Royal Mint of Spain, a.k.a. the place she works. What she doesn’t expect, and what we don’t expect, is for Mónica’s life to be changed for the better because of this incident.

The same thing could be said about Raquel Murillo, who is played by Itziar Ituño. Her life was completely changed in season one because of the heist at the Royal Mint of Spain. She was a police inspector assigned to the heist that eventually found herself way too deep and in a place that she never expected, where her loyalties would be tested by those she held dear.

Together they form a team of women who thrive against a world that wants them to fail. And it’s almost impossible to not love them by the time you’re done with season one, because they’re all messy, jaded, funny, kind, harsh, and take no one’s shit. Basically, they’re all so painfully human that you can’t help but connect with them and cheer them on as they face the fate and perils of Money Heist.

Money Heist Part 5 Volume 1 is set to hit Netflix on September 3rd with Volume 2 arriving December 3rd.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards has once again been feuding with former bestie, and co-star, Lisa Vanderpump. Lisa jokingly sent her restaurant bill to the producer that Kyle was dining with at an eatery. This re-ignited their feud.

Kyle accused RHOBH alum Lisa of dining and then dashing. Lisa brought receipts that she paid her tab, and then she dissed Kyle’s new nose.

Fans are counting the days until the Real Housewives spin-off airs. I assume that there will be feuds galore! The cast is made up of 7 Housewives from different franchises, staying together at a house in Turks and Caicos. What could possibly go wrong with this alcohol-soaked scenario?

Teresa Giudice and her thong bikinis, along with her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga, repped for Real Housewives of New Jersey. Kyle was the only member of the RHOBH cast to attend. Real Housewives of Atlanta peaches Cynthia Bailey and Kenya Moore both hit the beach. Ramona Singer and Luann de Lesseps from Real Housewives of New York also went on the tropical vacation.

There was reportedly drama between Ramona and Kenya right away. No one gets between Ramona and the best room in the house. And don’t even think about asking Kenya to share her crab cakes.

In an interview with Access, Kyle addressed the rumor that she went at it with Kenya. “It’s so funny. There are always so many rumors around the Housewives. There were feuds,” Kyle shared. “However, spoiler alert, my feud was not with Kenya. I don’t even know if I’m allowed to say that.”

The RHOBH “OG” continued, “I was so surprised because a lot of the women, I expected them to be a certain way and they were completely opposite of what I thought they would be. And it was really interesting.” I am fervently hoping that this trip is more messy than interesting.

So, who surprised Kyle the most? “I mean, I don’t know if I would say I was ‘the most surprised’ by anyone. I was surprised by everyone,” the actress stated. “The one I was the least surprised by was Ramona because Ramona is just Ramona. I know people love her or you hate her, but she’s Ramona.” Indeed, she is.

“She’s entertaining and she made me laugh. She’s as sweet as can be and I adore her,” Kyle shared. “I was the least surprised by Ramona, but I was surprised by anyone else.”

As for who Kyle hit it off with, it sounds like she got along with almost everyone. “I don’t know if I can say. I mean, some I knew. Some I didn’t know, so. I knew nothing about Luann,” Kyle revealed. “I just had to be like ‘Hi, nice to meet you. Let’s start from scratch.’ She’s actually great and she’s nothing like I imagined.”

Kyle also hit it off with the Jersey ladies. “Teresa, I thought she was gonna be somebody completely different. I was also shocked,” the actress remarked. “Melissa is a lot like my friends. I feel like she’s like a normal girl.” I could see that. “I feel like I’m the most normal on my show. Sorry, everybody,” Kyle added.

The only person that Kyle didn’t mention was Cynthia. Well, I guess we know who Kyle was actually feuding with. Maybe they were squabbling over who wore the best caftan.

Kathy Hilton has just made her debut as a friend-of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but she’s already iconic. And proving she deserves a diamond 1000% more than Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave. She’s the goofy older sister of Kyle “Doogie” Richards and Kim Richards and the mother of Paris Hilton. She’s bringing the funny back to RHOBH with her poor eyesight and martini chugging, which is a welcome change after the Season 10 gang up on Denise Richards.

Kathy brings a fabulosity and light-heartedness to a show where many of the longtime cast members like to hide their secrets behind the smoke and mirrors of glam looks. Like, her asking if she can put mouthwash in her flask literally sent me over the moon last week and RHOBH is only two episodes in. Truly a queen and as Lisa Vanderpump says, she takes no-nonsense.

And Kyle is yet again headed into another RHOBH season with a sister by her side, which we all know can either be really good or really bad. She and Kim butt heads on the show, whether it was over Kim’s erratic behavior or Kyle stealing Kim’s goddamn house. And once the Richards girls brought the family drama to the small screen, Kathy checked out as a viewer of the show her own family starred on.

Kathy recently spoke to Access about her first season of the show and revealed that she tuned out of RHOBH after the infamous limo scene of her sisters fighting back in the day. “I did not watch the show,” Kathy said. “I did until their big fight and that was it. That was it, the big limo fight. That was it for me. And I don’t watch TV in general, so.”

Honestly, I’m not surprised someone as kooky as Kathy isn’t into TV. Like she literally will tweet or make comments on Instagram to get her friends or family to call her like it’s her own personal texting platform.

Needless to say, I cannot wait for more Kathy this season. The only thing that would make it better was if Kim were to return, this time without Brandi Glanville. Or, at least, release her tell-all book that she didn’t even tell her sisters about. Now THAT’S the drama a town like Beverly Hills needs nowadays.

As we’re gearing up for The Last of Us on HBO, I’ve started to watch through the gameplay of The Last of Us: Part 1. After finishing it, I had so many hopes and dreams for this show that I figured why not put them out into the universe, and hopefully, we’ll get to see them in live-action (even though Neil Druckmann has said that the show will differ from the game).

While we all hope the relationship between Ellie and Joel is as strong between Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal as it is in the game, I want to take that one step further and say that I hope they keep the little details like the way that Joel comforts Ellie after she’s taken by the cannibals, calling her “baby girl” like he would have if she were his daughter, Sarah.

I also hope that they keep random little things like Joel constantly having to lift Ellie up so she can grab ways for him to get up to the same level, or Ellie not being able to swim so then he has to find boards for her to stand on while he gets her across whatever body of water they’re near.

What makes The Last of Us such an interesting game is the level of detail put into it. I’ve been watching my friend Sophie Martin’s Twitch stream of the game in preparation for my own gameplay/research, and she pointed out that Joel Miller will often touch his watch that he still wears despite it being dead and said he does so because it is his last thing from Sarah. He might not want the picture of himself and Sarah that Tommy tries to give him, but he still holds onto her in his own way, and that relationship helped spawn his desire to help Ellie when he could have refused to take the job.

What I’m excited for is to see the growth of Joel and Ellie’s relationship that goes from just a job into the dynamic we see by the end of Part 1, where Joel is willing to risk everything to protect her. We know from The Mandalorian that this is right up Pedro Pascal’s alley as an actor. He is one of the best out there currently, and he has mastered the art of playing the reluctant father-figure turned protector, and I can’t wait to see how that’s adapted for Joel.

I’ve never been a big “let me watch this stream” or watching other people play video games person. I’d rather play myself. But The Last of Us is so cinematic in its storytelling aspect that I think it’s going to translate incredibly onscreen, even if there are differences from the game to the show. Sure, maybe that means some of the beats will shift. Maybe we’ll see Tommy Miller (Gabriel Luna) sooner than we do in the game, after the prologue. Or maybe Tess will play a bigger part in the show than she does in the game.

Whatever they’re planning, I’m extremely excited about it because The Last of Us is one of the most beautifully constructed games I’ve ever seen, and translating that to live-action is going to be no easy feat.

Even though it’s been several seasons since a member of the Manzo family made an appearance on the Real Housewives of New Jersey, that doesn’t mean that they’re done with the drama. Caroline Manzo and Dina Manzo, the sisters who married brothers, are still going head-to-head as part of a years-long feud that’s never slowed down. And while Dina has moved to Malibu and found her inner zen, Caroline’s recent actions are trying to take away her namaste.

Dina’s had quite a tumultuous couple of years after she split from her ex Tommy Manzo. Tommy allegedly hired a member of the Lucchese crime family, who pleaded guilty,  to attack her new husband, David Cantin. But, of course, if you ask the Manzos, they claim to have never even heard of the mob, let alone admit having any ties to it. Two years later, Dina and David were victims of a violent home invasion where they were beaten up, zip-tied together and the thieves stole money and jewelry. It’s alleged that Tommy was involved in that home invasion, but he and his lawyer are proclaiming his innocence in both cases. Even though there’s a court order requiring him to stay far away from his ex-wife and her new man.

And Caroline fits into this as she’s taken the side of Albert Manzo’s brother, Tommy. Yes, the one being accused of attacking her own sister. She wrote a letter to advocate for Tommy’s character to help his case. If you thought Ashley Darby was sleazy for writing a statement about Candiace Dillard Bassett to help out Monique Samuels on Real Housewives of Potomac, this is a whole other level of betrayal.

For the first time ever, Dina has been outspoken on social media about her sister not having her back and controlling the narrative about their relationship. And now, thanks to screenshots captured by @LoveAndyC on Twitter, Caroline’s kids are getting involved. Albie Manzo has inserted himself into the narrative. Now that the younger Manzo brothers aren’t tied to BLK water anymore, they obviously have more time on their hands to get involved in the family drama. Don’t they have a car wash strip club to dream up or something?

“Oh, and real quick before anyone gets excited that someone w the last name Manzo posted something so this is your clown ass chance to leave baseless comments like you think you “know” something. I haven’t been silent, I’ve been busy,” Albie wrote. “But I’ve had just about enough of this bullshit and you’ll be hearing from me soon, don’t you worry.”

Who even asked for his input on all of this? But it’s not totally shocking considering those boys will ride or die for Caroline til the end. “In the meantime…Momma Bear, you’re the strongest woman I know. I love and admire you more than you will ever understand,” Albie continued.

Since Dina’s been on a roll sharing her input anyway, she responded back to Albie’s comment. “Ohhh shocking…going to speak about it on his podcast for the downloads. Unfortunately, this will just be a ‘storyline’ to profit from. What a shame,” she said. And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is a burn.

Whether you love Dina or hate her, it is hard to watch her own family turn on her after she’s been dealing with a tragic event. And her family drama was used as a major RHONJ storyline for seasons, so she knows how to play the game. While she might not consider Caroline to be a close sister anymore, she still has Teresa Giudice who will love love love her until the end.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills has a lot going on this season. There was so much fall out from last, with Denise Richards leaving and Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave doing us all a favor and getting fired. With that, came a cast shakeup. Sutton Stracke, previously a friend of, was promoted to a full-time housewife. Crystal Kung Minkoff was also added to the cast. Kathy Hilton, Kyle Richards‘ much more famous  sister was also added to make some appearances this season.

One person I’m thrilled to be coming back from last season is Garcelle Beauvais. I felt like last season, she really brought a realness to the cast. And she just so happened to be the only one with any sense in Denise’s corner as she was bullied off the show. 

But one of the consequences for sticking up for Denise was that Garcelle and Lisa Rinna’s relationship became fractured. If you ask me, there is no loss in Rinna not being your friend anymore. You can trust her as far as you can throw her. But they are still castmates, so they have to continue to interact.

Rinna doesn’t seem to pleased about that, as she recently told Access. When asked how her relationship is with Garcelle now, Rinna deflected, “Well, I think that you’d have to ask Garcelle because for myself, I thought we were fine after the first dinner. But, as I’m watching the episodes, I’m like ‘Oh. Maybe we’re not fine.’ Listen, I have a really good time and I have no idea that we have any beef after the first episode. So, I’m good.” Ummm didn’t Garcelle flat out tell Rinna they aren’t cool and she doesn’t trust her in episode 2? I guess Rinna has short term memory loss.

She continued, “That’s a Garcelle question because, honey, I’ve moved on. That train has left the station, but I have a feeling maybe that a grudge is going to be held the entire season.” Rinna also added about their status, “I have no idea. I’m oblivious.”

Rinna went on to elaborate in the third person, of all things. “Garcelle [is] not trusting the Lisa Rinna here. And, you know what, that’s OK. You know what I would have loved, say that to my face. Say ‘You know what, girl, I don’t like you. I don’t trust you.’ OK.” Earth to Rinna! She did do this. Remember when she told you this and you told her you couldn’t promise her not to use things against her?

Lisa boasted, “I got plenty of friends. Alright, great. But, to find out, episode per episode? I’m like OK.” Sure, Rinna. She also sniped, “You’re gonna have to talk to her because I’ve moved on. I’m fine. Everything’s good.” Once again, sure, Rinna.

When asked who is acting too much this season and deserves and Academy Award, Rinna didn’t hesitate and stated, “Garcelle. And what’s her tagline? Thank you. Anyway.”

Yes, anyway, Rinna. We all see you as someone who can’t be trusted and who consistently stirs the pot. And Garcelle doesn’t deserved to be dragged all because she’s the only one willing to point it out.

During the Season 11 premiere of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Dorit Kemsley invited her co-stars to get glammed up and have cocktails at her house. Last season, RHOBH viewers saw Dorit design a function room at the restaurant, Buca di Beppo. Some hanging vines and lemons don’t magically turn into the Isle of Capri.

Now Dorit has gone from designing bathing suits to designing wedding gowns. I am interested to see her designs. It seems like this might be her jam.

Dorit made the announcement on Instagram and posted a photo of herself in a stunning see-through lace bridal gown. Meanwhile, Erika Girardi is driving the struggle bus this season. It is only a matter of time until viewers get a peek inside her real life. And it’s far from “a pretty mess.”

Erika’s husband, Tom Girardi, is buried in legal woes. Tom’s law firm allegedly owes $26 million in settlement funds to the victims of a gas pipeline explosion and a plane crash. Tom and Erika were sued for embezzling funds that should have gone to the families of plane crash victims. They supposedly used these funds to bankroll their extravagant lifestyle. After all, it costs $40,000 a month to keep Erika looking glam. Tom also claimed that he went through $50 million to $80 million dollars and is now broke.

In November of 2020, Erika filed for divorce after 21 years of wedded bliss. The divorce was supposedly a scam to hide their assets. While Erika maintains that she knew nothing of her husband’s activities, her alleged signature on loan papers would refute that claim. In March of 2021, Tom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, and lost his license to practice law in California.

So, while Erika is facing these challenges, Dorit has her back. These two ladies have come a long way since “panty-gate.”

“She’s got a lot on her shoulders right now, but I have confidence in her,” Dorit told Access. “I believe she will tap into that strength she needs to get through it.” Dorit added, “I sure hope so. And she’s got support around her.”
