Marianne Faithfull hospitalized in London with coronavirus

Marianne Faithfull has joined the long list of stars confirmed to have COVID-19 — with the potentially deadly disease leaving the singer “barely able to speak” in hospital, according to reports.

The 73-year-old singer and actress — who shot to fame in swinging-sixties London, part of an iconic couple with Mick Jagger — was hospitalized last Monday and tested positive for the disease, Rolling Stone confirmed Saturday.

She has developed pneumonia and “can barely speak and [has] no visitors,” her ex-husband John Dunbar has been telling friends, according to The Independent.

Friends particularly fear for the smoky-voiced singer because she has a history of health conditions — having battled hepatitis C and breast cancer — that, along with her age, could put her in the high-risk bracket.

The star — who was just 16 when she released “As Tears Go By,” penned by Jagger and fellow Rolling Stone Keith Richards — has also been open about her struggles with drug abuse and anorexia.

“She has withstood and survived so much in her life – including being Marianne Faithfull – that to be taken down by a virus would be such a tragedy,” her friend, performance artist Penny Arcade, wrote on social media, according to The Independent.

Faithfull’s rep confirmed to Rolling Stone that “Marianne is being treated for COVID-19 in hospital in London.”

“She is stable and responding to treatment. We all wish her well and a full and speedy recovery,” the rep said in a statement.
