Domingo Zapata is swimming in the fishes.
While most of us are struggling to get groceries during lockdown, the NYC-based Spanish artist has been getting weekly shipments from Ikraa caviar worth thousands of dollars. He tells us, “My client paid me in caviar for a piece of art. They purchased a couple kilos and gave it to me in lieu of payment for a small diamond-dust panda painting.”
We’re told the painting was $30,000, with $6,000 paid in the delicacy.
Along with painting during quarantine, Zapata has set up an art contest in Spain for families to win a trip to NYC when it is safe to travel again.
