Broadway star Nick Cordero in ICU with possible coronavirus

Former “Waitress” star Nick Cordero is hospitalized in intensive care with what may be a misdiagnosed coronavirus infection.

“Nick has been sick for awhile with what we were told last week was pneumonia,” Cordero’s wife, fitness trainer Amanda Kloots, wrote on Instagram. “Unfortunately we think he was misdiagnosed and we are waiting to hear if this is in fact COVID,” she continued. At the time of her writing, Tuesday night, Kloots said that Cordero was currently unconscious “so his body can get enough oxygen.”

Kloots wrote that she and Elvis, the pair’s nine-month-old son, are “feeling fine,” but also added that the Broadway star “isn’t allowed to eat or drink … is very weak and having a hard time breathing.”

Cordero was nominated for a Tony Award for his work in “Bullets Over Broadway,” and has previously starred in “Rock of Ages” and “A Bronx Tale.”
