NEON and Hulu have won a bidding between four studios to land rights to release Little Monsters in the U.S., reports Deadline. Four suitors battled all night for this one, an Abe Forsythe-directed genre film that stars Lupita Nyong’o (Jungle Book, Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Josh Gad (Beauty and the Beast), and Alexander England (Alien: Covenant). Neon also acquired the hot Sundance title The Lodge, announced earlier this morning.
“Little Monsters follows Dave (England), a washed-up musician who volunteers to chaperone his nephew’s kindergarten class field trip after taking a serious liking to the fearless schoolteacher, Miss Caroline (Nyong’o). Dave’s intentions are complicated by the presence of the world’s most famous kids’ show personality and competition for Miss Caroline’s affections, Teddy McGiggle (Gad). One thing none of them bargained for, however, is a sudden zombie outbreak. Will Dave rise to the occasion and have a chance at Miss Caroline’s heart, or will the zombies get there first?”
Bloody Disgusting had previously shared your first ever look at Nyong’o covered in blood and surrounded by children.
The movie is produced by Keith and Jess Calder’s Snoot Entertainment (You’re Next, The Guest, Blair Witch) and Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories.
