‘Fear The Wolves’ Leaves Early Access February 6 With Massive Update
According to their latest Steam post, Vostok Games’ battle royale FPS Fear The Wolves (which we previewed here) is set to bust out of Early Access on February 6. Accompanying the launch will be a “massive update” featuring a bunch of new goodies.
The update is expected to go live on February 6 with the full launch of the game, but Vostok is mulling the idea of a “soft launch” a few days earlier to ensure that everything is working properly.
In addition, Fear the Wolves will be free to play from February 6-12 to give those who are undecided a chance to see if they like what the former S.T.A.L.K.E.R. team has been able to cook up. The game will also be on sale during that time, so if you like it, grab it.
So, what’s in that update, you ask? The big addition is a new artifact system. Artifacts are rare items that you can obtain by killing a new mutant known as the wolf matriarch to obtain its heart, or in the new radioactive lockdown areas. The matriarch heart allows you to summon friendly mutant wolves twice to help you fight enemy survivors. Another artifact is the spore artifact. This one gives you an enhanced vision mutation, allowing you to briefly see nearby enemies through walls.
You can check out the other tweaks, such as the new anomalies, AI tweaks, a new prematch system, the new Unified mode and more from the post.
