They Had No Idea What Their Dog Was Up To Until They Found A Note On His Collar.
Dogs are absolutely incredible creatures. Whether you're a dog lover, or not, the facts can't be denied. Not only do they make amazing companions, most dogs have some very special skills. Dogs can be trained to do a large number of things. They can learn to be the eyes for someone who can't see. They can help someone in a tremendous way who's experiencing an anxiety attack. Some dogs are even trained to rescue people in emergency situations. Louis is a very special dog that didn't need any kind of training to show off his skills. He knew he was needed, and rushed to the aid of a friend.
Louis is a 12-year-old pup from New Zealand, who is no stranger to finding adventure around every nook and cranny.
In his younger days, it would be no surprise for Louis to disappear for several hours and come home unscathed.

Once he started getting older, Louis stopped going on so many adventures, which is why his owner, Marolyn Diver, was worried when she came home to find Louis missing.
Louis appeared to have been gone all day, leaving his owner quite concerned about his well-being.

Finally, Louis showed back home, looking absolutely exhausted.
Around his neck was a note! Apparently, Louis had rushed off to save a friend in danger. The note was from their neighbor, Rob.

The note read, "Louis is the hero of the day. He led me to Maddy in distress stuck under a branch pile. Cheers, Rob."

Rob went out to run some errands and when he returned, his beloved dog Maddy was missing!
But what he did find, was a distressed Louis.

Louis insisted that Rob follow him. Luckily, Rob did just that.
Louis led him straight to a woodpile where Maddy had gotten stuck.

Rob knew how exhausted Louis was, so the next day he brought Maddy by to say thank-you!
Louis perked right up when he saw that his friend was safe. He truly is a hero!
