Donald Trump Criticized For Retweeting Anti-Muslim Videos From Far-Right Group

November 29, 2017

President Donald Trump is in hot water this morning after retweeting three anti-Muslim videos from Jayda Fransen, deputy leader of the United Kingdom's far-right Britain First group. Last year, Fransen was found guilty of religiously aggravated harassment by a UK court for verbally abusing a Muslim woman in front of her children.

A gunman who shot and killed British member of parliament Jo Cox in 2016, who had been campaigning for Britain to remain in the European Union at the time, reportedly shouted the name of the group before beginning his attack. Britain First denied involvement

The videos were titled: “Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches!” “Muslim Destroys a Statue of Virgin Mary!” and “Islamist mob pushes teenage boy off roof and beats him to death!”

The White House did not immediately respond to questions about the videos, but President Trump has since tweeted six more times, taking shots at CNN and at NBC over the revelation that Today Show host Matt Lauer had been fired over sexual harassment allegations.

Fransen took to Twitter to thank the President for promoting her tweets.

While the retweets were heavily criticised by members of the British parliament.

The move was heavily criticised by social media users.

This is insane.
