There are very few people who don’t remember the late, great Steve Irwin. He was revered for his passion for wildlife, and his fearlessness knew no bounds. His work saw him interact with some of the rarest and most deadly creatures from around the world.
The Crocodile Hunter inspired many people, especially kids, to pursue their dreams of protecting and conserving animals.
Twenty-four-year-old Michael Holston has idolized Steve Irwin since he was a kid, and, incredibly, he’s now being hailed as “the next Steve Irwin”. And why is that? Well, his presence on social media has shown just how adept he is with exotic animals.
Just feast your eyes on his incredible Instagram pictures:
“Day in and day out I strive like many others just to accomplish the things Irwin has done for our wildlife and planet!” Holston said. “I always wanted to be like him… and I still do!”
“I want to show everybody the smallest wildlife and the most dangerous wildlife,” he added. “Get close as possible. Hold it, hug it, touch it, kiss it.”
Michael, known as therealtarzann on Instagram, has amassed a whopping 169,000 followers on the popular photo-sharing app.
He takes photos ranging from taking baths with his pet anaconda to photos of him holding tiny palm-sized monkeys.
So what exactly does Holston do for a living? Well, he currently works as a manager at an exotic reptile farm where he rescues, buys, breeds and sells exotic reptiles, amphibians and sometimes mammals.
