You should be mindful of world events (no one wants an engagement announcement during a global disaster), make sure you tag your partner and not an acquaintance with a similar name in haste, and, most importantly, pay special care to the picture you upload.

Miranda Levy was so desperate to announce her engagement that she forgot to check her post before sending it out for everyone to see.

“I am truly blessed today as the love of my life has asked me to marry him,” she wrote, elated. “He wasn’t able to give me a real ring yet, but what matters is what’s on the inside. I know that we’ll be happy together, regardless of material things.”
