Jennifer Lopez Rushed the Wedding Because She Was Worried Ben Would Back Out, Source …
By now, you’ve almost certainly heard about the biggest A-list wedding since Kim and Kanye or Brad and Angelina.
(Yikes! Here’s hoping these two have better luck than their predecessors!)
Late on Saturday night, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez exchanged vows at an Elvis-themed chapel in Las Vegas.
The wedding took place about 20 years after the couple started dating and 18 years after they broke off their first engagement.
Jen described the nuptials in a lengthy post written for her online newsletter.
She admitted that the wedding almost didn’t happen because she and Ben were late arriving to the chapel.
But she didn’t address her alleged reason for insisting that the vows be exchanged that night.
A source tells Page Six that Lopez and Affleck planned their ceremony and booked the venue at the very last minute.
And once they were settled on a time and place, they rushed the nuptials for fear that something might go wrong that would force them to postpone becoming man and wife
“[Lopez] has been ready to get married since the night that Ben proposed,” says the insider.
“She wanted to lock this down and remove any chance for cold feet ASAP!”
That makes sense.
After all, Ben and Jen were supposed to get married back in 2003, but they called the wedding off with just four days notice, citing an “excess of media attention.”
A few months later, they broke up, and it took them 18 years to find their way back to one another.
There were other, logistical concerns, as well.
It seems that Ben had told ex-wife Jennifer Garner about the wedding and flown two of his three kids to Vegas.
Understandably, he didn’t want to have that conversation a second time.

“Ben did tell Jen about the wedding, but I’m told that it was only Friday at the earliest. It was very, very minimally planned in advance and was largely spur of the moment,” the insider tells Page Six.
“Violet stayed home because she’s extremely loyal to her mom.”
Violet is the oldest of Affleck and Garner’s kids, and her loyalty might be a result of her memories of the many times that Jen has lifted Ben up put him back on his feet.
Friends of Garner’s were reportedly outraged in December when the Affleck suggested in an interview with Howard Stern that he might still be drinking if he were still married to Garner.
“It’s disgusting … Jen has been the only one picking him up time and time again when he’s done horrible things — fallen off the wagon or worse,” one source told Page Six at the time.
“Ben’s comments were ridiculous and you could see that fans of Jen were so upset too,” the insider continued.
“But, of course, she has never wanted him to be anything other than happy and sober and I’m sure she wishes him well [on his new marriage].”
As for the other Jen, fans loved her lengthy, poetic description of the moment she finally married one of her first loves at a drive-through chapel in Sin City.
“Stick around long enough and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive through in Las Vegas at twelve thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with,” Lopez wrote.
“Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things — and worth waiting for,” she concluded.
Insiders say that Ben and Jen might throw a celebratory party for friends, but they will not be walking down the aisle a second time.
“There may be another white dress, but they won’t be saying their vows again,” says one source.
Our congrats go out to the happy couple!
