Socialite Nikki Haskell warns rich pals to watch out for ‘catfishers’

Socialite Nikki Haskell is warning her rich pals to beware of ‘catfishers,’ after she was approached by a scammer.

Haskell is isolating with bestie, Clive Davis, in Palm Springs, Calif., and “This guy came onto me on Instgram, pretending to be [director] Renny Harlin! He told me some story that he was quarantining in Hawaii and sent me pictures of himself… He knew everything about him,” Haskell told us. Harlin was famously married to Geena Davis in the ’90s.

Haskell said the Harlin impersonator came on “like gangbusters” for a week. “It sounded good… but I thought, ‘There’s no way Renny Harlin is falling in love with me.’ I checked the tapes and the voice didn’t match.”

Haskell warned, “Be careful. There are a lot of con guys out there… It’s called catfishing.” She’s even tried to warn the real Harlin.
