Actor Eddie Redmayne, who played the late Professor Stephen Hawking in the 2014 biopic, “The Theory of Everything,” paid a beautiful tribute to the scientist.

“We have lost a truly beautiful mind, an astonishing scientist and the funniest man I have ever had the pleasure to meet,” he wrote.
36-year-old Eddie won an Oscar for Best Actor for his touching portrayal of Stephen Hawking in the film.
Eddie met Stephen while researching for the role and described their time together as ‘one of the greatest moments of [his] life.’
The actor shared: “When Stephen saw the film, I was rehearsing so I couldn’t see him beforehand but I saw him just after he went in and I said ‘hey Stephen I’m very nervous, but please do let me know what you think.
He took a while to respond and said in his iconic voice ‘I will let you know what I think, good or otherwise.'”
“The Theory Of Everything” came out in 2014, and details the life and work of Stephen Hawking.
Stephen Hawking died peacefully in his home in Cambridge in the early hours of March 14, 2018.
