Russell Hornsby Takes Over Denzel Washington’s ‘Bone Collector’ Role in NBC’s “Lincoln”

Fresh off starring alongside Denzel Washington in Fences, Russell Hornsby has just landed the title role in NBC’s pilot “Lincoln, an adaptation of Jeffrey Deaver’s The Bone Collector that will see Hornsby playing the character Lincoln Rhyme, played by Denzel in the 1999 film.

The news comes courtesy of Deadline today.

The series follows legendary forensic criminologist Lincoln Rhyme, who was seriously injured during his hunt for the diabolic serial killer known as the Bone Collector.

Called back into action when the killer re-emerges, Lincoln forms a unique partnership with Amelia Sachs, a young beat cop who helps him hunt the deadly mastermind while also taking on the most high-profile cases in the NYPD.

The project hails from writers VJ Boyd and Mark Bianculli (S.W.A.T.), Universal Television and Sony Pictures Television, in association with Keshet Studios.

Seth Gordon will direct the pilot episode.
