Ahead of her Saturday Night Live hosting debut tomorrow night, Sandra Oh sat down for a promo video in which she breaks down a few of her favorite moments from the show. First up is some high praise for Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph’s “Bronx Beat” sketches (and SNL uploaded two of them to YouTube for your viewing pleasure) and Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake’s “Dick in a Box,” followed by some love for Molly Shannon’s awkward Catholic school girl, Mary Katherine Gallagher. Oh also gives a shout-out to fellow Canadian Mike Myers for his “Wayne’s World” sketches, which made Oh feel “somehow represented on SNL because there was someone from Ontario doing very Ontarian things.” Last but not least, Oh throws a bit of a curveball when she singles out Kate McKinnon’s somber post-election performance of “Hallelujah” in character as Hillary Clinton as the rare SNL segment that made her cry rather than laugh. “Kate’s performance — her layered, complex performance — I felt reached out to so many of us, and it certainly reached out to me,” Oh says. “Thank you, Kate.”
Check out another promo for Oh’s episode below, and catch the rest when SNL airs tomorrow night.
