Riverdale paid tribute to Luke Perry in Wednesday night’s episode following Perry’s death this Monday. He played Archie’s father, Fred Andrews, on the series, and Riverdale put a card with his name before the credits in the episode. The show shut down filming after Perry’s death, though it is continuing to air episodes he had already filmed. In last night’s episode, Fred came to Archie’s rescue when he was attacked in his home.
Perry rose to fame on 90210, and had a career resurgence with Riverdale, in which he played Archie’s kindly father. Since his death, numerous cast members have shared their memories of him on social media. Before last night’s episode aired on Wednesday, creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared a photo of Perry with the cast, writing, “Tonight’s episode of #Riverdale finds Fred doing what he does best — helping Archie. It is dedicated to Luke, as all episodes will be for the rest of our run.”
Going through pictures on my way to set. From the early days. With Luke in the middle. Our heart, always. Tonight’s episode of finds Fred doing what he does best--helping Archie. It is dedicated to Luke, as all episodes will be for the rest of our run. 💔❤️🏆
