Rebecca Hall Will Star in Amazon’s “Tales from the Loop,” an Adaptation of Simon Stålenhag’s Sci-fi Art
Last summer, Amazon Studios gave an eight-episode straight-to-series order to “Tales from the Loop,“ a new series based on the art of Simon Stålenhag. Via Deadline today, Rebecca Hall (The Gift) has now been tapped as the female lead of the sci-fi series.
Hall will play Loretta, a gifted physicist.
From writer Nathaniel Halpern (Legion), director Mark Romanek, Matt Reeves’ 6th & Idaho, and Swedish production and management company Indio, the co-production with Fox 21 Television Studio will premiere globally on Amazon Prime Video.
“Tales from the Loop explores the town and people who live above “The Loop,” a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe – making things possible that were previously relegated only to science fiction. In this fantastical, mysterious town, poignant human tales are told that bare universal emotional experiences while drawing on the intrigue of genre storytelling.”
Halpern is showrunner and exec producer, with Romanek directing the pilot.
