Latest ‘Bloodstained: Ritual of The Night’ Kickstarter Update Reveals Graphical Upgrades

March 01, 2019

With Bloodstained: Ritual of The Night finally getting a Fall release date (even if it’s not specific), ArtPlay and 505 Games have released a development update on the title’s Kickstarter page, which includes a nice graphics comparison video showing the game’s progress heading into the home stretch.

The update, penned by Koji Igarashi, delves into some of the gameplay mechanics, including the use of crystals to help maneuver the castle. There is the Reflector Ray which allows the player to bounce around the environment, letting players slip into tight spaces and reach new areas. The other is the Invert shard, which (taking a cue from Igarashi’s own Castlevania: Symphony of The Night) allows players to invert the castle whenever and wherever they’d like, allowing them to navigate areas that normally would be unreachable.

As for the graphical comparison, the footage shows off the June 2018 demo, and a current February 2019 build of the game, which has a better texture quality and lighting effects.

Bloodstained: Ritual of The Night is due out in the Fall for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and the Nintendo Switch.
