Coming off last year’s Oscar win(s) for The Shape of Water, Guillermo del Toro is currently one of the hottest filmmakers in Hollywood, and it looks like his next big project has been set up.

Collider reports today that del Toro will be writing and directing an original movie titled Zanbato for Paramount and J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot!

“Plot details remain under wraps, but sources say that Zanbato centers around a young female ninja — a character who could be anywhere between 10 and 15 years old.”

Or does it…?

“BTW- NOT a Ninja project,” del Toro just clarified on Twitter. “But there are ninjas in it.”

The site adds that Abrams will produce alongside Lindsey Weber.

Del Toro is also currently attached to direct Pinocchio for Netflix.
