Ava DuVernay is bringing some big feelings to OWN. The writer, director, and producer has just been given a straight-to-series order for an anthology called Cherish the Day. DuVernay already has a hit on her hands with the network’s Queen Sugar, and now Cherish will focus on a new couple each season, with every episode taking place over the course of one day in their lives. It will “reveal significant moments in a relationship that compel us to hold true to the ones we love, from the extraordinary to the everyday,” so in other words, it’s a show about how much you can cry in a single sitting before just passing out. Tanya Hamilton will executive-produce and serve as showrunner, in addition to directing the first episode. You have until 2020 to prepare.
