March 01, 2019

Fresh off directing Netflix’s “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch,” David Slade (Hard Candy30 Days of Night, “Hannibal”) has been tapped to direct an adaptation of Sara Gan‘s psychological thriller novel Come Closer, with Gan herself penning the adaptation of her book.

Come Closer follows a young architect who may be the victim of demonic possession or simply may be losing her mind.

The novel was published in 2003. Bret Easton Ellis (American Psycho) called it “hypnotic” and “disturbing,” as well as “a genuinely scary novel about possession and insanity.”

Academy Award nominee Michael London (Sideways, The Visitor, Milk) and Sara Gran will produce. Anton is fully financing, executive producing and handling worldwide sales.
