Hairstylist Arrested After Getting Into Dispute Over A Man's Unwanted Three Stooges-Style Haircut
This is the kind of story that makes you want to start reading your local police blotter again. The world is full of bad news and dramatic events, but some of the most engrossing dramas are the ones that play out in every day arenas. For instance, a hair salon.
A man in Madison, Wisconsin, named Khaled A. Shabani has become Internet Famous for getting into a hair dispute with one of his clients. Apparently, Mr. Shabani does not subsrcibe to the conventional wisdom that the customer is always right. The Wisconsin State Journal reports that on Friday, one of Shabani's clients was moving around too much in his chair, so he twisted his ear. Then he cut it. With scissors. On purpose.
The man in Shabani's chair was also allegedly given a terrible haircut, but it's unclear if the fight started because of the haircut or if the haircut was completely the result of the fight. Kind of a chicken and egg situation. It's hard to give someone a good haircut when they're screaming at you, but why would they be screaming if you're not ruining their look?
Police say that the haircut wasn't enough to take Shabani in, but deliberately assaulting someone with a weapon is. Go figure.
“While it is not a crime to give someone a bad haircut, you will get arrested for intentionally snipping their ear with a scissors,” Madison police spokesman Joel DeSpain said.
But the cut is described as being reminiscent of "The Three Stooges," who are not known for their style, because he allegedly ran a buzzer right down the middle of the customer's head after cutting his ear. That's adding insult to injury.
People are rightly horrified by this story, because we all secretly wonder if our hairstylists are thinking about burning it all down and stabbing us in the head. They are:
Be nice to your hairdresser, at least until you're out of their chair.
