“Riverdale” and ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Star Luke Perry Has Died at 52

March 04, 2019

After suffering a massive stroke last week, we’ve just learned the terribly tragic news that Luke Perry passed away this morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Burbank.

TMZ reports, “According to his rep, Luke was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiance Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends.”

Luke Perry of course rose to household-name prominence thanks to “Beverly Hills 90210,” playing Dylan McKay in the series. More recently, Perry had returned to television for 52 episodes of The CW’s “Riverdale,” playing Fred Andrews, the father of Archie Andrews.

In 1992, Perry played Pike in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and he also voiced Sub-Zero in the 1990s animated series “Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm.”

Most recently, Perry filmed a role in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

We offer our sincere condolences to Luke Perry’s family and friends during this awful time.
