Chucky and the Child’s Play franchise have evolved a whole lot over the years, and a new video from Tell It Animated chronicles that 30 year journey from Child’s Play to, well, Child’s Play.

The pint-sized killer doll first came onto the scene back in 1988 and will next be seen in a remake of that original classic, and the road from original to remake has been, if you’re asking me, hugely entertaining. With Don Mancini as the creative architect, the franchise has remained true to its film-to-film continuity, while also changing with the times in fresh ways.

Running just over three minutes long, Tell It Animated’s “Evolution of Chucky” video chronicles it all, highlighting important story beats and the character’s visual evolution from ’88 to ’19.
