K9s from different police agencies are receiving body armor, courtesy of Vested Interest in K9s, a non-profit organisation that provides protective vests and other assistance to law enforcement dogs and related agencies throughout the US.

Vested Interest

Since it was founded in 2009, the non-profit has donated an estimated 2,800 vests in 50 states. For every $950 donation, the organisation provides one protective vest which is valued at around $1,744-$2,283.These protective vests are bullet proof and stab proof, giving adequate protection while K9s are on duty.

Vested Interest

This program is open to any K9 working under the US law enforcement or any new K9 graduates. It’s also eligible for any K9s working under any law related agencies around the US and police dogs with expired vests.
