Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Jen Shah

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Jen Shah

The web of fraud allegations surrounding Jen Shah is leading up to the wildest second season of the Real Housewives of all time. Truly, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is coming in hot, especially with a major legal battle right off the bat. Jen’s being accused of being a mastermind behind a longtime telemarketing scheme that targeted elderly folks. Yeah, it’s as bad as it sounds. She and her sidekick Stuart Smith are accused of committing fraud for years as part of the scheme and could face 30 years in prison. Yet, based on Jen’s social media, she’s “unarrested” and unbothered, seemingly believing she’ll somehow find a way to weasel her way out of this.

Jen’s been doubling down that she’s innocent, asking the court to just dismiss this whole inconvenience to her. She’s still surrounded by her Squad but lost the ability to pretend to live the good life in her rented Shah Chalet. And nearly everyone is in the belief that Jen’s pretty delusional for going onto RHOSLC in the first place if she was involved in such a fraudulent business. Well, everyone except Heather Gay, who’s the most loyal friend of all time for no good reason considering Jen’s constant abuse. And to think Jen’s feud with Mary Cosby caused her to have a total meltdown. I can’t imagine the explosion that ensued after she was arrested on camera.

And Jen’s legal team is trying to make miracles happen in her defense. In a new report from Radar OnlineJen’s legal team is accusing prosecutors of picking on Jen because she’s a TV personality. She and Erika Jayne should start a club for reality stars who can’t help but cry scapegoat. Jen’s lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, sent a letter to the court in response to the FBI’s claims that Jen is a “Tier A” suspect with greater culpability in the complex scheme. Priya wrote that the accusations that Jen is an alleged mastermind “have no place on the public record.”

The letter urges the court to stricken or redact the statements. “Unlike all of the other defendants, Ms. Shah is a public figure because of her work on the Bravo television network. The government is well aware of this and timed its letter for the night before oral argument, knowing that it would be picked up by the press — which it was, and was reported in a highly prejudicial manner,” Priya continues. I’m no legal expert by any means, but it sounds like a shot in the dark to try to protect whatever is left of Jen’s image. I wonder if her lawyer is aware of Jen’s attempts to pay off her legal bills by using her “celebrity” status to raise money on a GoFundMe. Bloop!

Prosecutors apparently weren’t convinced by the accusations in the letter, claiming they are coming after Jen because she deserves it, not because she’s a Real Housewives star. That sounds about right since the FBI doesn’t exactly seem like the biggest Bravo fans. But that’s probably changed nowadays considering the fraud allegations running rampant against Real Housewives. You can try to bury your skeletons in your massive closets all you want, but the truth will always prevail. Lesson learned, Erika and Jen.

TELL US – DO YOU BELIEVE JEN IS BEING TARGETED BECAUSE SHE’S A TV PERSONALITY? DO YOU THINK JEN WILL FACE JAIL TIME FOR THE FRAUD ACCUSATIONS SHE’S FACING?
